Memoir

The MEMOIR series originates from the idea of creating a concept with an essential element that could be extended to various compositions while maintaining a clear design identity. GamFratesi explains, "We have always been fascinated by chandeliers – and we wanted to work with a modular concept that maintained a decorative sense without losing its simplicity and great functionality."

GamFratesi has designed the MEMOIR series with vivid contrasts in mind. The opal glass shade is shaped gently with a significant tip at the bottom that evokes certain historical elements and styles of the past. In contrast, the metal suspension and linear connectors are modern and graphic elements. MEMOIR is designed to bring compositions of luminous sculptures to life for both domestic and hospitality spaces.

As a result of the thickness of the three-layered opalised glass, MEMOIR emits a pleasant and uniform light. With the linear connectors, MEMOIR can fill up a room with a cloud of downward illumination while also being able to establish an intimate and ambient lighting atmosphere with the single ceiling or wall elements. A distinctive and graceful lighting design intended to light up spaces - no matter shape, length, height or size.

"MEMOIR is a modern interpretation of the classic chandelier - developed as a family of modular elements that can create numerous compositions. We wanted to play with the idea of a historical typology of lamps that would enhance the value of memory while adding a modern and more graphic take on the design."

MEMOIR is a series that covers both pendants, wall, and ceiling lamps. With the opal glass shade as the consistent element, the series comes in a wide range of configurations available in two different finishes – satin brass and matt black. The connector arm is designed to avoid any type of welding thanks to technical and modular detailing, which allows it to be connected in every model of the collection and in numerous compositions.
